SurveyMonkey

Turn any public SurveyMonkey survey into a voice agent that calls people, asks the questions out loud in their language, and files each answer back into your survey. You paste a link; Aethex does the rest.

How it works

Give Aethex a public SurveyMonkey link. It reads the survey page by page and builds a voice agent whose script asks every question in order.When the agent calls someone, the conversation is transcribed. After the call, Aethex fills your live survey form from the transcript, one page at a time, and submits the response. You never touch the form yourself.

When your agent is ready

Reading the survey happens in the background, so a new agent starts in provisioning. It becomes active once its script is written, usually within a few seconds. If the survey cannot be read, the agent is marked failed.

Note
A survey agent cannot place calls until it is active. Poll GET /api/v1/agents/:id with the agents:read scope, and start calling once its status is active.
STEP 01

Create a survey agent

Send the public survey link, the voice the agent should use, and the call language. This needs the agents:write scope (and agents:read to poll status). The agent comes back in provisioning.- survey_url (required): a public Web Link collector on surveymonkey.com, surveymonkey.eu, surveymonkey.co.uk, or research.net.
- voice_id (required): one of your voices from GET /voices.
- language (required): english or french, the language the agent speaks.
- name (optional): a label for the agent. Defaults to "SurveyMonkey agent".

Create a survey agent
bash
curl -X POST https://api.aethexai.com/api/v1/integrations/surveymonkey \
  -H "X-API-Key: $AETHEX_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "survey_url": "https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/XXXXXXX",
    "voice_id": "<your-voice-id>",
    "language": "english",
    "name": "Customer satisfaction survey"
  }'
STEP 02

Call a participant

Once the agent is active, use it like any other Aethex agent: place an outbound call, or attach a phone number for inbound. You never submit anything yourself. When the call ends, Aethex fills and submits the survey response from the transcript.

What it can ask

The agent works through the survey in order, page by page: short text, comment boxes, single choice (radio buttons and dropdowns), multiple choice (checkboxes), and dates. It adapts to whatever the survey contains, so you never map questions by hand.

Testing without polluting your results

Running a survey agent from the dashboard's "Test in browser" submits to your live collector just like a real call, but tags the response with the aethex_source=dashboard_test custom variable.

Tip
Add a custom variable named aethex_source to your survey (Design Survey, then Custom variables) to filter test rows out of your results. Surveys that do not define it simply ignore the tag.

Notes and limits

The integration stores no SurveyMonkey credentials and adds no mid-call tools. It only needs a public survey link, and Aethex speaks English and French today.Provisioning limits. Reading the survey walks it without answering, so a required question that blocks progress before the last page, or a survey longer than 20 pages, fails provisioning and the agent never becomes active. Keep required questions answerable in order, and split very long surveys.

Heads up
A response is filed once the fill reaches the survey's last page with at least one captured answer, so a call cut short can still file a partial response when the remaining questions are optional. The dashboard's "Test in browser" files a tagged response, not a dry run, so use a throwaway survey while testing if you do not want responses in your production results.
